INDEPENDENT READING Students can do magazines and newspapers as well as books!
Class Information (Week of 21st and 29th):
We will be completing our unit on Literature. We will be reading "Call of the Wild" by Jack London, and taking chapter quizzes on symbolism and vocabulary. At the end of the unit, we will write a 5 paragraph literary essay on theme.
Monday, May 21st- In class, take ELA trimester reading tests and review Informational Text reading.
Tuesday, May 22nd- In class, read USH textbook Chapter 15.1 and do worksheet. Watch video on "Dorthea Dix" if time.
Wednesday, May 23rd- In class, read USH textbook Chapter 15.1 and do worksheet. If time, watch "Crash Course" reform movement.
Thursday, May 24th- In class, read USH textbook Chapter 15.2 and do worksheet. If time, watch "Crash Course" on slavery.
Friday/Monday May 25th and 28th- No School Memorial Day Weekend/D.C. Trip
Tuesday, May 29th- In class, finish 15.2 packet and discuss reform movement.
Wednesday, May 30th- In class, begin 15.3 informational reading packet and discuss.
Thursday, May 31st-In class, complete 15.3 information reading packet.
Friday, June 1st-In class, begin 15.4 informational reading packet.
