Reform Movement/Biography Unit (Integrated Language Arts/U.S. History)
During this unit students will be covering U.S. history learning targets for the reformation era of 1820-1860 as well as Language Arts learning targets for research, writing, and public speaking. The cumulative project will be a presentation by each student on an important individual during this time period of social reform. Reform movements covered include: antislavery, changes in religions, penal systems, education, women's rights, temperance, and special needs/treatment of the mentally ill.
